Gisele Bndchen Reinvents Kate Middleton's Go-To Dress
Besides crowns and ermine-trimmed velvet robes, perhaps no piece of clothing is more associated with British royalty than the coatdress. The garment has become a staple in the closets of royal family members from Princess Anne to Princess Eugenie, but its primary champion is none other than Kate Middleton. Over the years, the Princess of Wales has put her stamp on the silhouette, often embarking on public engagements wearing a vibrant midi-length coatdress, typically from London-based fashion designer Catherine Walker.
This royal uniform is exactly what makes the latest street-style look from Gisele Bündchen all the more exciting. On Thursday, the supermodel was photographed in New York City en route to The Tonight Show, looking utterly glamorous in a totally different interpretation of the regal coatdress.

The model’s outfit was head-to-toe Alaïa; its centerpiece was an incredible mini coatdress made of inky-black wool. It had long notched collars, two rows of black buttons, and a dramatic flared trumpet skirt.
For shoes, Bündchen wore slouchy black leather knee-high boots, also from Alaïa, with a round toe and a unique glassy wedge. She finished the look off with ridged gold Alaïa hoop earrings, a long black coat, and sheer black tights.

Yesterday was a fashion-filled day for the model, who also made a guest appearance on The View earlier in the day. At the time, she continued to show off her luxuriously cool off-duty style in a slightly asymmetrical denim midi skirt, a black turtleneck sweater, a long camel coat, and black leather stiletto boots.
