Andrew Wold assault case continues in Scott County Court
Accuser claims Wold held his head under water, left him injured
A 42-year-old landlord who faces multiple lawsuits in connection with the partial collapse of a Davenport apartment building is headed for court in a 2020 assault case, according to court records.
A settlement conference is set for July 16 and a jury trial is set for Sept. 9, according to court documents.

In the lawsuit, Tyler J. Frick, of Bettendorf, says Wold assaulted him on about Dec. 2, 2020, at Frick’s Bettendorf home.
At the time of the assault, Frick was taking pictures of Wold dumping dirt onto Frick’s Bettendorf property, the suit claims, saying Wold “tackled” Frick.
When Frick tried to get away, Wold pushed him into a creek, Frick alleges in court documents.
“Wold then hit (Frick) and held his head under water” but Frick “was able to wiggle free,” court documents show. Wold then took Frick’s cell phone “and threw it at a distance.”
Frick alleges in the suit that Wold tackled him again, “and severely injured his shoulder, with it obviously being out-of-socket” and injured Frick’s arm, knee, head, and back.
Wold’s attack, the suit says, “was with the intent to put Tyler J. Frick in fear, and even extreme fear, of physical contact, physical pain and injury, and emotional injury.”
As a result, Frick “incurred significant past medical bills, and will incur significant future medical bills,” and he has lost “significant past income and will incur loss of future income.”
Frick has experienced significant loss of enjoyment of life, emotional distress, and past and future pain and suffering, he alleges in the suit.
Frick asks for compensatory damages “and such other relief as the Court deems fair and equitable in the circumstances,” the suit says.
Frick requests a jury trial.
Wold also faces an OWI (operating a vehicle while intoxicated) charge from November 2023. Additionally, as the owner of an apartment building that partially collapsed in May 2023, he faces multiple lawsuits after the collapse killed three men and dozens of other people were injured or lost almost everything they had.
